Community Options, Inc. in Camp Hill, PA is hiring a Community Integration Counselor to help individuals develop life skills across physical, intellectual, emotional, and social areas. The CIC provides individualized supports designed to empower participants to live more independently in their communities.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour. Responsibilities include supporting independence, meeting waiver participants, documenting progress, coordinating transportation, and ensuring accurate records

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Background checks, including criminal, central registry, and drug testing, are required.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to increase independence and daily living skills.
• Meet with waiver participants regularly in residence, community, or office settings.
• Provide ongoing support for community integration efforts.
• Document progress toward community integration outcomes.
• Coordinate leisure and volunteer opportunities.
• Assist with transportation to medical appointments and activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are accurate and timely.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states.

We are now hiring a Community Integration Counselor in Camp Hill, PA. The Community Integration Counselor (CIC) is responsible for assisting individuals with learning physical, intellectual, emotional, and social life skills. The Community Integration Counselor provides individualized services designed to assist participants in managing and overcoming the difficulties confronted when living in the community.

Starting pay is $19.00/per hour

Responsibilities

• Support and encourage individuals to increase their ability to be as independent as possible
• Meet with waiver participants on a regular basis either in the individual's residence, the community, or an office setting
• Provide ongoing support for community integration efforts
• Document individual progress toward acquiring community integration
• Assist in building a support network between the individual and the community
• Administer medications and ensure proper completion of necessary documentation
• Coordinate all leisure and volunteer opportunities
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concerns
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
