About the Position

The DayProgram Activity Assistantsupports the implementation of the Thrive Social Day Program.Thriveis a social model day program designed for individuals experiencing mild cognitive changes or early-stage dementia.This roleassistswith facilitatingactivities and groups at Thrive andassiststhe Day Programcoordinatorwithengaging participants and providing a welcoming supportive environment.

Job Duties

1. Co-lead andassistwith implementing groupactivitiesincluding cognitive exercises, physical activities,hands-onactivities and projects and social gatherings.
2. Assistwith preparing daily program materials (handouts, room setup, organization, etc.)
3. Engage directly with participants, offering individualized support to promote engagement, emotional well-being, and enjoyment throughout each activity.
4. Provides a positive, supportive atmosphere during programing.
5. Ensures residents safety during recreation programs; follows safetypolicies andtakes appropriate measures.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
7. Contribute extensively toward achieving departmental goals andobjectives.
8. Treat all persons with respect andisa “team player” within the department and within the organization.
9. Exercisesdiscretion and independent judgment.
10. Take responsibility for personal growth and learning andprojectsa positive professional image.
11. Effectivelyuseresources andstrivesfor efficiency.
12. Abide by department, personnel, and company policies and procedures.
13. Must meet regular and predictable attendance requirements.

Job Requirements

1. High School Diploma.
2. Two years’ experience in activities or related recreationalfieldpreferred.
