Job summary

Controlled Contamination Services is seeking a Day Porter to perform on-site cleaning at a client facility in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time role includes daily janitorial tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment for sensitive operations.

Requirements include a High School diploma (GED accepted) and about 1 year of related experience or training. Strong reading, writing and communication skills, plus adherence to chemical safety protocols, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Fill spray bottles with germicide and clean/sterilize as directed.
• Clean, stock, and remove trash; replace liners and manage waste.
• Mop floors or vacuum carpets; clean surfaces, walls, desks and equipment.
• Shampoo rugs and clean glass when required.
• Notify supervisor of discrepancies and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Familiarize yourself with cleaning chemicals and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Day Porter role in the company is responsible for the daily, on site, janitorial tasks at a defined customer facility or office.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Fill all spray bottles with the germicide needed to clean and sterilize.
• Clean, stock, and remove trash in each room. Replace all trash can liners. This task should be repeated multiple times during the shift.
• Mop all floors and/or vacuum all carpets.
• Normal duties include but are not limited to cleaning all surfaces within the environment including walls, desks, counters, equipment and floors. As well as other areas by request.
• Shampoo rugs and clean glass as required.
• Notify supervisor of any discrepancies in the overall condition of the environment, ie., leaking faucet, broken pipe, crack in wall or glass, etc.
• Must become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.
• All other duties as defined by supervisor.

Qualifications: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
