Position Purpose

The Day Porter role in the company is responsible for daily, on-site janitorial tasks at a defined customer facility or office.

Major Areas Of Responsibility

• Fill spray bottles with germicide needed for cleaning and sterilization.
• Clean, stock, and remove trash in each room. Replace trash can liners. Repeat multiple times during the shift.
• Mop all floors and vacuum all carpets.
• Clean all surfaces within the environment, including walls, desks, counters, equipment, and floors, as well as other areas by request.
• Shampoo rugs and clean glass as required.
• Notify supervisor of any discrepancies in the environment, such as leaks, broken pipes, or cracks.
• Become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.
• Perform all other duties as defined by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent.

Skills Required

• Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Effective presentation of information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, lift/climb, talk/hear, use hands, reach with arms.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
