Job summary

The Ziegenfelder Company in Wheeling, IL, is seeking a Day Shift Line Worker to support our frozen novelties production. You will place sealed units into packaging, monitor seals, and help keep the line running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, and preferred prior food service or production experience. You will stand up to 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow all safety policies; benefits start after 60 days,

About the Role

As a Day Shift Line Worker at The Ziegenfelder Company, you’ll play a key role in our production process, ensuring our frozen novelties meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment and are committed to maintaining excellence in every task.

Essential Functions

• Place sealed individual units into packaging and ensure proper sealing
• Repackage products that are improperly sealed or coded
• Dispose of scrap products and raw materials appropriately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Comply with all federal, state, local, and company environmental, health, and safety policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• Prior experience in food service or production preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Physical Requirements

• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Regularly move and lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Perform bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping motions
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment with good spatial awareness

Working Conditions

Exposure to noise levels above 85 decibels (hearing protection provided)

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $17.00/hour
• Schedule: 40 hours per week with consecutive set days off
• Benefits: Begin on the first day after 60 days of employment
