Job summary

VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced team. This full-time role focuses on nursing care for emergency and critically ill patients, collaborating with criticalists and ER doctors.

You will perform triage, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and more, while educating clients and supporting a positive hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
• Collaborate closely with Criticalists, ER Doctors, Specialists, and fellow technicians.
• Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.
• Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.
• Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.
• Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.
• Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.
• Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.

Full-time opportunity. Day/ 1st shift schedule opportunity is 7am -8 pm

Compensation

$24 - 34/hr, and the starting range for technicians is determined by licensure, skill set, and years of experience. Financial growth opportunities are available.

In This Role, You Will
