This announcement will be used to fill multiple positions throughout Fairfax County.
Plans, coordinates and implements daily experiences and projects for groups of school-age children. Oversees all activities in the center. Coordinates activity plans, staff assignments, and daily and weekly schedules. Ensures the health and safety of the children at all times. Supervises teaching staff, to include training staff in the implementation of these procedures and assists staff in responding to children's unsafe behaviors. Duties are performed under the general supervision of a Day Care Center Supervisor.
Schedule: These are 52-week (full year) positions. Positions require a split shift during the school year, and full-day during the winter, spring, and summer programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a child-related field such as, but not limited to early childhood or elementary education, nursing, recreation, or a related field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a Child Protective Services Registry check to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire.

In conjunction with maintaining the room set-up, must be able to move quickly in order to respond to unsafe situations and have enough strength to separate children engaged in an altercation. Must be able to participate in all outdoor activities throughout the year, for example, field trips, pool excursions, hiking etc. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, stretch walk, climb, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, crawl, handle materials with manual dexterity, type on a keyboard and be able to lift up to 35 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
