Summer Camp Director

Your role will be vital in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring campers have a fun-filled summer they'll always remember.

Position Overview: As a Summer Camp Director, you will:

1. Oversee daily operations and management of the summer camp.
2. Divide campers into age-appropriate groups and ensure implementation of daily activities.
3. Train and supervise part-time Day Camp Group Leaders.
4. Manage opening and closing responsibilities, including pick-up and check-out procedures.
5. Maintain accurate daily counts of children and manage supply expenses and inventory.
6. Ensure safety, supervision, and implementation of programs for campers, including swim days.
7. Foster creativity and intellectual curiosity through planned activities.
8. Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements:

1. Must qualify for state license (Texas Department of Safety and Health Services or Texas Department of Health and Human Services).
2. Minimum age: 21 years; High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher education.
3. 1 year of previous childcare experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 2 years of full-time experience in licensed childcare with 70 credit hours of relevant training.
4. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry at least 30 pounds, and work outdoors.
5. Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills.
6. Positive attitude and ability to serve as a role model for youth.
