Job description

Position Summary: The Day Camp Bible Counselor is responsible for planning and teaching Bible classes to children ages 6 - 12, during summer Day Camp. The Bible Counselor will work with other Day Camp staff to provide a safe and meaningful summer Day Camp experience in a Christian environment.


Essential Responsibilities:



  • Preparing weekly lessons for the Bible classes, using provided curriculum

  • Responsible for instruction of the Bible class sessions with day camp groups

  • Responsible for praying and following up with youth who would like to make a commitment to Christ during camp sessions

  • Responsible for the supervision of campers in each class, with assistance of their counselor

  • Track and report names of youth accepting Christ during camp sessions

  • Attend all staff meetings

  • Prepare and clean meeting space before and after each session

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


Education/Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Some college with a focus on biblical studies, preferred


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



  • Knowledge and understanding of the Bible and its truths for Christian living

  • Some experience in working with and teaching children


Computer Skills:



  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office 365

  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint

  • Willingness to learn new software as needed


Certificates and Licenses:



  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed

  • Complete First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days
