Job summary

The Town of Plainfield is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure daily safety and operations at the Plainfield Aquatic Center, indoor and outdoor. Duties include guarding, enforcing rules, and assisting with maintenance and programming under Ellis & Associates standards.

Certifications are provided at no cost, with year-round scheduling and a weekend premium. Training, orientation, and ongoing education support are included as part of employment at this municipal recreation facility.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must obtain Jeff Ellis Lifeguard Certification and/or Jeff Ellis Swimming Instructor Certification provided free of charge by the Town of Plainfield.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguarding and patron safety across indoor/outdoor facilities.
• Performing rescues, first aid, and emergency actions per protocol.
• Maintaining pool area cleanliness and pool equipment.
• Assisting with pool operations, event setup/teardown, and staff supervision where needed.
• Documenting water quality tests and incident reports.
• Following Town policies and Ellis & Associates risk management standards.
