Bringing Home the Dough

This position is responsible for interacting with internal customers at the Killer Cafe. This position is highly important as you are providing an exceptional benefit for all company partners. Efficiency and accuracy are key for this position.

Starting pay - $18.91
After 90 days $20.11
After 180 days $ 21.68

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to recipe specifications.
  • Follow recipes and ensure quality of food being served.
  • Execute proper cooking techniques according to recipe instructions.
  • All opening, ongoing and closing procedures must be completed per management approved checklists.
  • Accurately complete and report inventory; daily orders should reflect proper needs.
  • Abide by all food safe handling procedures, proper sanitation practices, FIFO of product, and correct labeling.
  • Thoroughly clean all kitchen equipment, cook ware, and service wares.
  • Maintain clean, tidy, sanitary dining area (tables, chairs, floors, service wares, beverage station).
  • Accurately take temperatures of all foods and equipment, record on appropriate temperature logs.
  • Supervise buffet station and keep all items filled and fresh, assist partners as necessary.
  • Check in food orders according to order invoice sheet, and ensure proper condition of items received.
  • Check and fill chemical dispensers for sanitation.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move product.
  • Ability to ascend and descend building stairways, ladders and ramps to reach job assignments and perform tasks required in job description. Specific tasks require standing, climbing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, bending and twisting.
  • Work shifts are generally assigned ahead of time; however, changes to schedules are necessary to accommodate vacations, sick days, and unforeseen changes in personnel.
  • All GMP's must be followed when entering the production area to reach the donation bread area.
  • This position works in a kitchen environment, uniforms are supplied.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years professional kitchen experience.
  • Must have a current state issued Food Handlers Card.
  • Knowledge of commercial cooking, kitchen equipment, and cooking techniques. Ability to operate and use standard kitchen equipment.
  • Strong food prep skills.
  • Must have strong basic math skills.
  • Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision:
    • a. Time management
    • b. Ability to follow instruction and problem-solve
    • c. Strong initiative and organizational skills, attention to detail
    • d. Must be able to work as a team with all personnel
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English.
  • Pre-requisites for internal candidates:
    • a. Must be in good standing in current position.
