Job summary
CTG is seeking a DataStage Migration Architect to lead end-to-end migration from IBM DataStage 11.7 to CP4D 5.3 DataStage NextGen in New York.
You will design migration patterns for server, parallel, and sequence jobs; establish baselines; and drive cutovers with SMEs, platform support, and IBM CP4D Product Engineering.
Required expertise includes OpenShift, Python, S2PX, CCMT, MettleCI, CPDCLI, and AI coding tools for automated conversion and modernization.
Qualifications
- Expert IBM DataStage 11.7 across Server, Parallel, and Sequence Jobs.
- Proven CP4D 5.x DataStage NextGen migration experience.
- Strong OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) knowledge.
- Expert Unix/Linux scripting and Python.
- Experience with S2PX, IBM CCMT, MettleCI, CPDCLI.
- Experience using AI coding agents/tools (GitHub Copilot, IBM Bob) for code conversion and automation.
- Strong migration architecture, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and cutover skills.
- Insurance and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) domain experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end migration strategy, architecture, and execution from IBM DataStage 11.7 to IBM CP4D 5.3 DataStage NextGen.
- Design migration patterns for Server, Parallel, Sequence Jobs, routines, shared containers, sub-flows, parameter sets, and orchestration pipelines.
- Develop reusable migration patterns, MVPs, complexity classifications, and wave entry/exit criteria.
- Lead production cutover, dress rehearsals, back-out planning, remediation, issue resolution, and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with SMEs, platform support, stakeholders, and IBM CP4D Product Engineering/Support.
