Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking a DataOps Engineer to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM). This full-time role is onsite/remote at the NCBI in Bethesda, MD and/or remote, offering challenging problems and the opportunity to influence enterprise data platforms.

Join a new DataOps Platform team applying Kubernetes, GitOps and containerized services to processing pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong coding skills in Python and/or C++.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud services (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Experience with data processing pipelines and modern data platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains DataOps platform components.
• Supports automation of data workflows and pipelines.
• Ensures security and compliance in data processing environments.
• Collaborates with researchers and developers to drive platform adoption.
