Position Responsibilities:

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure of a highly technical data center environment. Your responsibilities will include performing rack, stack, and cable installations for servers, storage devices, networking gear, and GPU systems. You will install rails and mount equipment within data center racks, meticulously label assets, maintain optimal airflow, and manage cabling to the highest standards.

You will ensure proper power, fiber, and copper network cabling connections and will assist with moves, adds, and changes (MACs) throughout the data center floor. Following comprehensive deployment runbooks and engineering documentation will be integral to your daily tasks. You will also conduct basic hardware validation, including LED and port checks, and execute initial troubleshooting for hardware issues.

The role requires accurate documentation and asset management in internal tools, as well as close collaboration with data center engineers and networking teams during deployments and hardware migrations. Strict adherence to ESD (electrostatic discharge), safety, and security protocols is required. You may also support the decommissioning and removal of end-of-life hardware as part of ongoing operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in a data center environment, specifically in rack and stack operations. Strong knowledge of server and network rack layouts, structured cabling (including both fiber and copper), and power distribution units (PDUs) is highly desirable. You should have direct experience installing enterprise‑level servers (such as Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or equivalent brands), and be proficient in reading rack elevation diagrams and deployment instructions.

Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs and work within confined rack environments is required. Familiarity with ESD procedures and best practices for safe handling of sensitive hardware is also essential. You must show strong attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow detailed technical instructions and documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with data center hardware deployment and management.
  • Advanced understanding of server and network rack organization, structured fiber and copper cabling, and PDUs.
  • Proven track record of installing enterprise servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar).
  • Ability to interpret and work from rack elevation diagrams and technical runbooks.
  • Capable of lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and working in tight rack spaces.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ESD, safety, and security best practices within data centers.
  • Strong attention to detail, precision, and adherence to standard processes.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in hyperscale or GPU‑dense data centers.
  • Familiarity with high‑performance computing (HPC) environments.
  • Understanding of hot/cold aisle containment and data center airflow best practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with large‑scale hardware refreshes or migrations.
  • Basic Linux skills (helpful but not required).
