Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Plain City, OH (Onsite)

8-Month Contract

We are seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer to support one of our clients facilities. This role focuses on managing critical infrastructure operations, coordinating vendors and technicians, and ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of systems supporting data center environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree in a relevant discipline
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in data center engineering and/or operations
• 0–2 years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with network layout and low voltage cabling (copper/fiber) is a plus

Day to Day:

• Oversee onsite management of shift techs, senior techs, subcontractors, and vendors
• Ensure operations follow established procedures and safety practices
• Coordinate with IT managers and business leaders on capacity, projects, and performance optimization
• Operate and manage critical systems (e.g., UPS, switchgear, generators, chillers, CRACs)
• Monitor and report on performance metrics and facility efficiency
• Support new facility buildouts and infrastructure upgrade projects
• Maintain asset and inventory records
• Participate in recruiting and support staffing efforts
• Deliver timely and high-quality service in response to customer needs
