Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a Senior System Software Engineer for its Datacenter Performance and Power Management Software team in Santa Clara, CA. You will architect and deliver production software for datacenter power management controllers, spanning pre-silicon validation to deployment in large-scale data centers.

You will work at the intersection of hardware, firmware, drivers, and OS, shaping power-management capabilities for next-generation NVIDIA GPUs and systems.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 12+ years crafting system software, embedded firmware, or hardware-related production software.
• Strong C programming skills and low-level software experience.
• Solid understanding of OS, drivers, embedded/RT software, and concurrency.
• Experience translating hardware specs into software interfaces.
• Independent debugging across multiple software and hardware layers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, implement, and debug data center power and performance-management software.
• Develop real-time controllers and policies for dynamic optimization of performance, power, and thermals.
• Lead features across the full product lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Collaborate with GPU architects and hardware designers to define interfaces.
• Analyze interactions among workloads, voltages, power limits, and telemetry.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex power, performance, and reliability issues.
• Develop validation strategies and automation for functional correctness and robustness.
• Create architecture and interface specs for new power-management features.
• Partner with distributed teams across architecture, ASIC, firmware, and data-center systems.
