Job summary

OLH Inc. is seeking a senior Databricks Architect to design and guide multi-tier, secure data platforms across cloud environments. You will lead architecture reviews, mentor data teams, and drive adoption of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Mosaic AI within Databricks.

The role requires deep expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and streaming, with strong communication to cross-functional teams and stakeholders. On-site in Los Alamos, NM, with opportunities to influence enterprise-wide data strategies.

Qualifications

• MS degree in a relevant field; 20 years designing, building, and operating Databricks workloads with medallion architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark Structured Streaming, Lakeflow/DTL, Databricks SQL, MLflow, Mosaic AI Model Serving.
• Proven cloud-architecture experience (VPC/VNet, S3/ADLS, KMS, security).
• Production streaming and CDC experience; data governance and ABAC policies.

Responsibilities

• Advise on Databricks reference architecture covering Lakeflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Mosaic AI, Databricks SQL, and Databricks Apps.
• Provide hands-on guidance on Databricks full-stack solution design.
• Advise on data movement and zero-copy patterns; guide migrations to Databricks and cloud data platforms.
• Recommend security, governance, and compliance-as-code strategies and pattern implementations.
• Advise on segregated/tiered data pool architectures aligned to data classification and regulatory requirements.
• Recommend FinOps and performance standards, workload and cost management.
• Mentor data engineers, analysts, and AI/ML teams in architecture reviews and standards.
• Collaborate with information & cyber security for policy compliance.
• Evaluate new Databricks capabilities and adoption strategies; plan endpoint integrations with third parties.
