Job summary

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server development, SSIS, T-SQL, and strong data modeling skills within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Job description

Seeking a mid-level Software Engineer - Database (SQL) with 5+ years of SQL Server development experience to support enterprise web applications, data engineering initiatives, and data warehousing projects. This individual will build and support scalable data pipelines, data integration frameworks, and database solutions while helping the organization prepare for an upcoming migration to AWS technologies including Redshift and Glue. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL Server, SSIS, ETL, and data warehousing expertise and enjoys working within an Agile software development environment.

Must Haves

• 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server experience in a Database Developer, SQL Developer, Database Engineer, or Data Engineering capacity.
• Strong experience developing solutions using T‑SQL, including stored procedures, data transformation, query optimization, and database development best practices.
• Experience building and supporting SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or similar ETL/data integration solutions for enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, data management practices, and end-to-end data pipeline development.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data while supporting production systems, troubleshooting defects, and maintaining high-performance database environments.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with AWS services, particularly Redshift, Glue, or cloud-based analytics and data integration platforms, as the organization prepares to migrate production environments to AWS. (From hiring manager notes)
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Python, Scala, or other programming languages used for data engineering and automation initiatives.
• Exposure to Business Intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience supporting data lake environments, reusable ingestion frameworks, and scalable enterprise data architectures.

• Design, develop, and support scalable SQL Server database solutions, ingestion frameworks, and transformation pipelines that support both application and analytics initiatives.
• Build and maintain SSIS-based and other data integration processes used to ingest, transform, and deliver data across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders during architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Support Agile software development initiatives while contributing to high-performance, standards-based systems and data management best practices.
• Assist with database modernization efforts, cloud migration planning, and ongoing improvements related to data warehousing, reporting, analytics, and future AWS adoption.
