Database Reliability Engineer III (Remote)

About the Role

CrowdStrike is looking for an experienced Engineer to join our Data Services team to enhance our database systems. We seek a highly technical, hands-on engineer passionate about working with data plane services like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and comfortable building automation for large-scale cloud systems.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain a deep understanding of data components such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and operate and automate their clusters effectively.
2. Develop infrastructure services supporting a full DevOps model.
3. Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot production issues promptly.
4. Ensure the safety, security, and availability of critical business data.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Salt, or strong Ruby skills.
• Experience with large-scale datastores such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.
• Experience managing large Linux environments.
• Experience operating within cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Effective collaboration skills with local and remote teams.
• Decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, CIS, Engineering, or related fields.

Salary range in the U.S.: $110,000 - $180,000 plus incentives, equity, and benefits.
