Job summary

TBC is seeking an experienced Database Manager to lead the Microsoft SQL Server environment, ensuring availability, security, and reliability. You will guide a small database/reporting team while collaborating with IT, security, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities include managing backups, disaster recovery, high-availability designs, and performance tuning, with a focus on secure access controls and efficient ETL processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Microsoft SQL Server administration in production environments.
• 2+ years of technical leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, Always On, backup/recovery, SQL Server Agent, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with PowerShell automation.
• Understanding of Windows Server, storage, and virtualization as they relate to database performance.
• Experience with database security and audited or regulated environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance.

• Automate database administration, maintenance, and deployment processes using PowerShell and related tools.
• Oversee SSIS/SSRS, reporting, ETL, and data integration activities.
• Lead database incidents, root-cause analysis, documentation, and operational improvements.
• Supervise and provide technical direction to database and reporting/ETL staff.
• Manage vendors, licensing, technical projects, and after-hours escalation as needed.
