Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Database Lead in Philadelphia to own the Oracle SQL pipelines powering daily trading data. You’ll transform inbound cash position files into clean, reliable data for downstream systems and troubleshoot issues before the market opens.

You’ll own end-to-end data workflows with an on-site, early-morning cadence around 7am, collaborating with middle-office and technology partners to ensure accuracy, performance, and timely delivery every morning.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on experience with Oracle SQL.
• Experience in data transformation, file ingestion/ETL, or reconciliation.
• Comfort with an early-morning schedule (start around 7am).
• Ability to work calmly under time pressure.
• Local to the Bala Cynwyd/Philadelphia area and on-site availability.

You’ll own the Oracle SQL pipelines that ingest and transform external cash position files at the start of the day, turning messy, imperfect inputs into clean, reliable data for downstream systems.

When files arrive malformed or processes wobble, you’re the calm in the storm-diving into data, fixing issues in real time, and getting everything back on track.

What You'll Work On

You’ll sit on a middle-office data team focused on inbound clearing and cash positions.

• Daily inbound cash position files
• Inbound clearing processes

Core tools and concepts include Oracle SQL as your primary language, plus data transformation, file ingestion/ETL, and reconciliation work. Python and financial operations concepts (cash, positions, settlements, clearing) are helpful extras.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ingesting external cash position files received each morning
• Validating incoming data to catch issues early
• Transforming raw inputs into structured data ready for downstream systems
• Developing and maintaining Oracle SQL processes that drive daily workflows
• Optimizing existing Oracle SQL code for speed, reliability, and clarity
• Troubleshooting data quality issues and file format problems in real time
• Diagnosing and resolving process failures at the start of the day
• Performing reconciliation work to ensure accuracy and completeness of positions
• Collaborating with middle-office and technology stakeholders to resolve exceptions quickly
• Supporting continuous improvement of daily processes and data pipelines
• Documenting procedures and contributing to team knowledge sharing
• Owning a repeatable, high-stakes daily process and keeping it running smoothly

What We're Looking For

• Strong, hands-on experience with Oracle SQL (primary and non-negotiable)
• Background in data transformation, file ingestion/ETL, or reconciliation-type work
• Comfort and reliability with an early-morning schedule (critical process starts around 7am)
• Ability to operate calmly and effectively under time pressure
• Excellent problem-solving skills with unexpected or malformed data
• Local to the Bala Cynwyd / Philadelphia area or truly committed to substantial on-site work
• Working knowledge of Python is a plus
• Exposure to financial operations concepts (cash, positions, settlements, clearing) is helpful
• Experience supporting middle-office or operations-critical data processes is a bonus
