Job summary

Clover Sonoma is seeking a Database Engineer to design, build, and optimize data platforms supporting manufacturing, warehousing, finance, sales, and reporting. You will architect data pipelines from SAP S/4HANA on SAP RISE to SAP HANA Cloud and into an AWS Data Lake, implementing Bronze-Silver-Gold layers for governed datasets ready for Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years in database engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and RISE with SAP.
• Experience building an AWS data lake with S3 and AWS data services.
• Advanced SQL skills, relational DB design, tuning, and recovery.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, APIs, batch jobs, and data exchanges.
• Knowledge of security, access controls, auditing, and disaster recovery.
• Strong documentation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize relational databases and data services.
• Build data pipelines from SAP S/4HANA to SAP HANA Cloud and AWS.
• Extract SAP data using CDS Views, OData, APIs, etc.
• Design HANA Cloud schemas, views, and data models.
• Implement Bronze/Silver/Gold data layers in AWS Data Lake.
• Create data models for Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Maintain data interfaces between SAP and business systems.
• Monitor health, performance, and security; resolve root causes.
• Document architecture, data flows, and procedures.
• Provide production support for database and integration incidents.
• Evaluate technologies and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Follow cybersecurity, data privacy, and record-retention requirements.
