Job summary

CBRE seeks a Database Engineer to design and implement databases and related products supporting operations. You will build data pipelines, create views and front-end interfaces for data updates, and own solutions from integration to production deployment.

The role emphasizes SQL, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Power Platform, and strong collaboration with analysts and engineers to deliver scalable data solutions and high-quality data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in data engineering, database development, or related role with production ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with using Python for data processing, automation, and API integration.
  • Experience with Git-based development and version control.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Lists, PowerBI, Fabric).
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • Organizational skills with a curious mindset; Agile preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and improve reliable data pipelines and platforms for analytics, reporting, and business applications.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Develop solutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps and Power Automate and Azure SQL.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity with validation and reconciliation processes.
  • Optimize database and application performance via queries, indexing, and data structures.
  • Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, models, process maps, and user guides.
  • Assist with training and support for end-users on databases and applications.
  • Lead by example in line with CBRE RISE values.
  • Operate within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly, exchange information, and confirm understanding.

About theRole:

As a CBRE Database Engineer, you will be responsiblefor reviewing, designing, and implementing databases and related products tosupport business operations. You will also develop various views and front-endinterfaces for users to update data and maintain business processes. The idealcandidate is strong in SQL, comfortable working across cloud data platforms,and able to take ownership of solutions from source-system integration throughproduction deployment.

This job is part of the Database Engineering job function.They are responsible for the upkeep of databases across several companyplatforms and computing environments.

What You’llDo:
  • Design,build, maintain, and improve reliable data pipelines and data platforms thatsupport analytics, reporting, operational applications, and businessdecision-making

  • Workclosely with data analysts, business stakeholders, application teams, and otherengineers to turn complex data requirements into scalable and maintainablesolutions

  • Developsolutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate,Azure SQL, etc.

  • Ensuredata quality and integrity using validation, verification, and reconciliationprocesses

  • Optimizedatabase and application performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, andbuilding data structures and associated views

What You’llNeed:
  • Relevantbachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3years of relevant work experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combinationof experience and education will also be considered

  • Experience in data engineering, database development,or a closely related role that included building production ETL/ELT pipelinesfor relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL

  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensionalmodeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Database Analyst position is $80,000 annually [or $38.46 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Database Analyst position is $90,000 annually [or $43.26 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
