Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; combination of experience and education also considered
  • Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines for relational databases (SQL Server/Azure SQL)
  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data quality and pipeline orchestration
  • Advanced SQL skills: joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, query optimization
  • Familiarity with Python for data processing, automation, and API integration
  • Experience with Git-based development and version control
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure and/or AWS
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Office products (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Ability to solve standard problems using established procedures
  • Organizational skills with a curious mindset; Agile experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and improve data pipelines and platforms supporting analytics and reporting

  • Monitor database security, backups, and disaster recovery planning
  • Maintain data documentation like data dictionaries and models
  • Assist with end-user training and support for database systems

About theRole:

As a CBRE Database Engineer, you will be responsiblefor reviewing, designing, and implementing databases and related products tosupport business operations. You will also develop various views and front-endinterfaces for users to update data and maintain business processes. The idealcandidate is strong in SQL, comfortable working across cloud data platforms,and able to take ownership of solutions from source-system integration throughproduction deployment.

This job is part of the Database Engineering job function.They are responsible for the upkeep of databases across several companyplatforms and computing environments.

What You’llDo:
  • Design,build, maintain, and improve reliable data pipelines and data platforms thatsupport analytics, reporting, operational applications, and businessdecision-making

  • Workclosely with data analysts, business stakeholders, application teams, and otherengineers to turn complex data requirements into scalable and maintainablesolutions

  • Developsolutions using Power Platform products including PowerApps, Power Automate,Azure SQL, etc.

  • Ensuredata quality and integrity using validation, verification, and reconciliationprocesses

  • Optimizedatabase and application performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, andbuilding data structures and associated views

  • Monitordatabase security, backups, and disaster recovery plans

  • Maintaindocumentation, including data dictionaries, data models, process maps, and userguides

  • Assistwith training and support to end-users on database systems and applications

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values

What You’llNeed:
  • Relevantbachelor’s degree or professional certifications preferred with at least 3years of relevant work experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combinationof experience and education will also be considered

  • Experience in data engineering, database development,or a closely related role that included building production ETL/ELT pipelinesfor relational databases such as SQL Server and/or Azure SQL

  • Understanding of data warehousing, dimensionalmodeling, data quality, and pipeline orchestration

  • AdvancedSQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, queryoptimization, and data modeling

  • Familiaritywith using Python for data processing, automation, and API integration

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Database Analyst position is $80,000 annually [or $38.46 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Database Analyst position is $90,000 annually [or $43.26 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
