Job summary

B&A is seeking a Database Developer to join a contract with a federal government client, supporting the United States Customs and Border Protection. The role focuses on designing and maintaining robust, scalable database systems to support our applications and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 3+ years of experience.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing performance.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication.
• PostgreSQL, Oracle and DB2 experience (or at least one).
• Experience in government environments.
• Experience in database administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement database solutions to support applications and business processes.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
• Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
• Perform database maintenance tasks, such as backups, indexing, and updates.
• Document database designs, configurations, and procedures for reference and training purposes.
• Stay current with the latest database technologies and best practices.
