Job summary

Yrefy LLC in Phoenix, AZ is looking for a Database Design Engineer to translate business needs into scalable database designs for transactional and analytical workloads. This full-time, onsite role partners with software, analytics, QA, and business teams to deliver reliable data models, robust performance, and secure data access.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL, data modeling skills, experience with relational databases, performance tuning, and knowledge of security and disaster recovery

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years in database engineering or related role.
• Strong SQL and relational database design experience.
• Experience with data modeling for transactional and analytical systems.
• Knowledge of security, backup and disaster recovery practices.
• Ability to document designs and communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain database schemas supporting apps and analytics.
• Optimize tables, indexes, views, procedures for performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on data models.
• Support data integration and migrations across systems.
• Monitor performance and tune for reliability.
• Ensure data integrity and standards across environments.
• Document standards and design artifacts.
• Assist with backup, recovery, and DR planning.
