Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced Database Platform Support professional to join our Boston-area team. You will manage production support, incident response, RCA, and ongoing platform reliability across PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, Redshift, Snowflake, and related services.

You will contribute to monitoring, automation, security remediation, and stakeholder communications while participating in on-call rotations and major incident bridges. Strong financial-application experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of database administration and production support experience.
• 5+ years supporting cloud-hosted database platforms.
• Strong experience in Incident, Problem, Change, and Capacity Management.
• Experience supporting mission-critical financial applications.
• Experience working within 24x7 operational support environments.

Responsibilities

• Production Support & Incident Management, including escalation for major incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting of database, platform, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Coordinate incident communications and stakeholder updates.
• Participate in on-call rotations and major bridges.
• Monitor platform SLAs and operational KPIs.
• Support AWS services including EC2, RDS, Redshift, S3, Lambda, EFS/EBS, Kinesis, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Service monitoring, operational support, capacity planning, and security remediation.
• Develop SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles; drive automation and improvements.

• Aurora PostgreSQL
• Database upgrades
• Act as L3 escalation point for major production incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting of database, platform, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
• Coordinate incident communications and stakeholder updates.
• Participate in on‑call support rotations and major incident bridges.
• Monitor platform SLAs and operational KPIs.

Security, Audit & Compliance

• Support audit and regulatory requests.

Platform Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Identify recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.

• Drive problem management initiatives.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Work closely with application support teams, data engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate with AWS, Snowflake, and database vendors.
• Participate in change management and release activities.
• Provide technical leadership during production events.

Salary Range

$90,000 - $157,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
