Job Title: Database Architect II - Postgres

Clearance Required: Public Trust – US Citizenship required

Work Location: Remote, Arlington, VA

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Database Architect II - Postgres for a remote position on a Federal program in Arlington, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and manage large-scale databases to store and organize digital information, ensuring security and performance.
• Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL database systems.
• Participate in Agile team activities such as stand-ups and sprint planning.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership for database administration challenges.
• Coordinate with project managers and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Support production databases with regard to availability, reliability, and integrity.
• Create and update database objects and structures as per requirements.
• Lead database deployment and promote objects across environments.
• Advise application developers on database capabilities and optimization.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• US Citizenship and at least 5 years of experience in PostgreSQL architecture.
• Knowledge of networking, data warehousing, and relational databases like Oracle or SQL Server.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with DevOps tools, React.js, Azure cloud monitoring, and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile environments.

Salary and Benefits

Range: $88,501 - $110,000. Benefits include PTO, federal holidays, health/dental insurance, life insurance, 401(k), and professional development.
