Job summary

NS2 Mission in Chantilly, VA seeks a Database Administrator to maintain enterprise database environments supporting Intelligence Community customers. You will work with engineers, developers, and sysadmins to optimize performance, implement scalable solutions, and ensure mission-critical systems run reliably.

The role focuses on administration, tuning, backups, and upgrades within a secure, high-performance environment. A TS/SCI with FSP clearance is typically required for related positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering enterprise database environments in production.
• Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting server infrastructure and operating systems.
• Familiarity with optimization techniques and configuration management best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments for performance, availability, and reliability.
• Monitor database and server performance; analyze metrics and implement tuning and capacity plans.
• Perform backups, restores, archiving, and recovery activities to protect data.
• Install, configure, and maintain database platforms, storage, OS, and related components.
• Troubleshoot database, server, hardware, and software issues with timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and customers to implement enhancements and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain database standards, baselines, SLAs, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate database objects and configurations to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Support change and configuration management; identify automation opportunities.
• Conduct software evaluations andPOCs to guide infrastructure modernization.
