Job summary

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator to support the IBS program for USTRANSCOM. The role entails designing, implementing, and maintaining relational database systems with strong SQL and Linux scripting skills in a DoD security context.

You will manage PostgreSQL/MySQL environments, ensure high availability, perform patching, and support migrations to AWS RDS, collaborating with development teams to optimize performance across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of rel. database administration (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Experience with design, implementation, and deployment of database systems
• Strong SQL skills including performance tuning and data modeling
• Familiarity with DoD STIGs and security requirements
• Experience with Linux scripting and RHEL environments

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, implement, and administer relational DB systems (PostgreSQL) with security and access controls
• Maintain environments for development, testing, and production for IBS program
• Install, configure, and upgrade DB software as needed
• Develop patching schedules to address vulnerabilities
• Ensure high availability via backups, replication, and snapshots
• Monitor downtime and performance, resolve issues promptly
• Support migrations to AWS RDS and DDL/DML scripts during releases
• Collaborate with IBS teams on data requests and queries
• Maintain DB configuration across Development, QA/Test, GovTest, Production
• Support after-hours deployments and on-call rotations
