Job summary

Chugach Electric Association in Anchorage, AK seeks a skilled Database Administrator to design, secure, and optimize enterprise databases within a mission-critical environment. You will manage access, implement backups, tune performance, and support application development with robust data solutions.

Ideal candidates have five years of DBA experience, Oracle and SQL Server proficiency, and a CS-related degree.

Qualifications

• Five years of DBA experience in an enterprise environment; two years must include Oracle release in the past ten years; two years in database design or development.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (MIS, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, STEM) or equivalent experience.
• Four years of additional equivalent experience may substitute for the required degree.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor system-level and database owner access to enterprise databases.
• Create and maintain database elements in all enterprise databases.
• Perform database programming to provide data to front-end applications.
• Responsible for database backup, recovery, scheduling, disaster prevention, and documentation.
• Automate database tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
