Job summary

Qualifications

• 5 years of strong knowledge of database management systems and data warehouse tools.
• 1 5 years of development, implementation and maintenance of data warehouses and data marts.
• 5 years of experience with data dictionary and reporting functions.
• 5 years of experience using database access tools for application delivery.
• 5 years of ability to plan, manage and report on data projects.
• 5 years of excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 5 years of teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• 5 years of extensive benchmarking processes and techniques.
• 5 years of data warehousing data population and data modeling.
• 5 years of GUI based ETL tools such as Informatica or IBM WebSphere DataStage.
• 5 years of experience with enterprise class databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server).
• 5 years of experience with analytical and reporting tools (Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy).
• 5 years of SQL and data transformation experience across projects.
• 5 years of proven ability to work with technical and non-technical groups.

Responsibilities

• Selects and enters codes of utility programs to monitor database performance and memory usage.
• Directs programmers and analysts to modify the database management system.
• Reviews and answers user questions about database programs.
• Coordinate data usage to ensure integrity and avoid redundancy.
• Modify database programs to improve processing performance (tuning).
• Assist in planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
• Evaluate user requests for new data elements and incorporate into shared data environment.
• Load and reorganize databases as needed to maintain performance.
• Perform data modeling and prototyping, both logical and physical.
