Job summary

Peraton is seeking a motivated DB2 Database Administrator to support, maintain, and enhance database environments across multiple business applications. You will perform database administration, development, installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and production support within AIX and UNIX environments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with application development and operations teams to implement database changes and ensure high availability. Remote work option is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience; Associates Degree and 10 years; Masters and 6 years; or High School Diploma with 12 years.
• Experience administering and supporting IBM DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of relational databases, structures, and SQL/PL concepts.
• Working knowledge of SQL with DDL, DML, and SQL statements for support.
• Experience creating and maintaining database objects: tables, constraints, views, indexes, triggers, procedures.

Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment credit check as required by the Customer.
• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience; an Associates Degree and 10 years of experience, a Masters Degree and 6 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience
• Experience administering and supporting IBM DB2 database environments as well as DB2 database installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, database structures, and procedural
• Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write and execute DDL, DML, and SQL statements to support application
• Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining database objects, including tables, constraints, views, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, and
• Basic understanding of database development concepts and SQL/PL/SQL programming
• Working knowledge of UNIX or AIX environments, including the ability to read, troubleshoot, modify,and test shell
• Ability to perform database administration tasks, including database maintenance, troubleshooting, software installation, and
• Understanding of database deployment processes and the ability to develop and execute deployment scripts across multiple

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting databases within AIX and UNIX operating system environments.
• Experience writing and maintaining SQL and PL/SQL scripts for application development and database support.
• Experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with database change management, release management, and deployment processes across multiple environments.
• Experience supporting production databases in an enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience working with application development teams and supporting moderately complex software applications.
• Familiarity with enterprise operational procedures, change controls, and risk management practices.
