Job summary

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Experience administering and supporting enterprise database platforms (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of Linux and database infrastructure administration.
- Experience with scripting/automation tools (Python, Shell, Ansible).
- Understanding of replication, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
- Experience in cloud, containerized, or hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL ecosystem tools (EDB, CloudNativePG, OpenShift, Kubernetes).

The Data Engineer is responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of enterprise database platforms and data solutions. This role designs, implements, and maintains reliable, scalable, and secure database environments while supporting data processing, automation, and operational excellence initiatives. The position provides technical expertise for MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL platforms, ensuring system availability, performance, and lifecycle management through upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and modernization efforts. The role partners with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver resilient database services that support business objectives and technology transformation initiatives.

- Administer, maintain, and support MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL database environments.

- Experience with database upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems and database infrastructure administration.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, Shell, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of database replication, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
- Experience supporting databases in cloud, containerized, or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL ecosystem tools, including EDB, CloudNativePG, OpenShift, and Kubernetes, preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple technical teams.
