Job summary

Techunting is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own and optimize our enterprise database environments powering mission-critical SaaS applications. You will lead incident response, performance tuning, and capacity planning, while shaping database strategy with engineers.

Responsibilities include patching, upgrades, migrations with minimal downtime, backup/recovery design, and enforcing best practices across teams. AI-assisted tooling will support monitoring and automation.

• Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions to optimize query response times and system throughput.
• Collaborate with software engineers and tech leads to review query designs and schema changes, ensuring efficiency and scalability prior to deployment.
• Lead the implementation of patches, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime, including backup/recovery strategies, high-availability setups, and disaster recovery testing.
• Mentor and support junior DBAs and application teams, driving adoption of database best practices across the organization.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling and automation to streamline monitoring, root cause analysis, and operational workflows.
• Communicate database health, maintenance status, and potential risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job description

We manage and scale the database infrastructure that powers tax compliance for more than 100,000 customers across 100+ countries. As a Senior Database Administrator, you'll be a hands-on technical leader responsible for the performance, security, and availability of our enterprise database environments, keeping mission-critical SaaS applications running at their best.

More specifically, you will:
