Job summary

Infosys Limited's Financial Services unit is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to provide hands-on enterprise DB administration and production support for DB2, Sybase ASE, or MongoDB environments. Responsibilities

• Resolve Tier 1 incidents and assist in root cause analysis and documenting incidents, unresolved issues or security concerns.
• Participate in onsite/offshore discussions and execute onsite activities as per plan.
• Document methodologies and techniques to ensure knowledge sharing.
• Prepare environments for deployment, execute deployment plans, and support post-deployment testing.
• Support scheduled maintenance, emergency fixes, and system enhancements.
• Monitor system performance metrics, report deviations, and troubleshoot to ensure optimal performance.

In the assigned Job Role of Infrastructure Consultant 1, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Resolve Tier 1 incidents and assist in performing root cause analysis and documenting incidents, unresolved issues or security concerns, ensuring resolution using established tools and techniques
• Participate in discussions with internal teams at onsite and offshore and execute onsite-specific activities as per agreed plan
• Document methodologies, activities, and techniques to ensure knowledge sharing across teams and projects
• Assist in preparing environments for deployment, execute deployment plans according to detailed instructions, and support post-deployment testing to validate release success
• Support scheduled maintenance, emergency fixes, and system enhancements, adhering to defined procedures and best practices
• Monitor system performance metrics, report deviations, and follow procedures for initial analysis and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance

Required Skill and Experience

• Database Administrator with hands-on experience in enterprise database administration and production support.
• Must have experience/exposure with any two technologies: DB2, or Sybase ASE, or MongoDB.
• Provide L2/L3 database administration and production support.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain DB2, Sybase ASE, and/or MongoDB environments.
• Perform database administration tasks including backup/recovery, monitoring, health checks, and user management.
• Troubleshoot database issues and perform performance analysis and tuning.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and configuration changes.
• Participate in database/data center migration projects.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure database availability and stability.

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Hands-on Database Administration experience.
• Working Knowledge in at least one of: DB2, Sybase ASE, MongoDB.
• Good understanding of:
• Database administration and support
• Troubleshooting and performance analysis
• SQL and database architecture
• Database upgrades and migrations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a production support environment.
• Experience with two of the following: DB2, Sybase ASE, MongoDB.
• Experience supporting database/data center migrations.
• Exposure to AutoSys.
• Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of HA/DR concepts.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
