Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is looking for a Database Administrator in Salt Lake City, Utah to provide production support for various global database platforms including Sybase, DB2, and MSSQL. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in database administration and a strong understanding of SQL and database architecture.

Your responsibilities will include resolving alerts, managing database implementation, and collaborating with engineering teams. We're looking for a team-oriented individual who can work in a dynamic environment and follow production runbooks effectively.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and/or DB2.
• Experience with database migrations and upgrades.
• Ability to execute runbooks in a production environment.

Job Summary

Provide production support for multiple database platforms (Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, Mongo DB, Oracle database) infrastructure globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Alert resolution, provisioning activities & user requests.
• Database implementation, migrations, lifecycle upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams.
• Flexible to work weekend shifts.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with Sybase ASE and/or DB2.
• 3–5 years of experience in supporting database/center migrations.
• Strong understanding of:
• Database administration tasks.
• Troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• SQL and database architecture.
• Database upgrade and migration.
• 3–5 years of experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, cron, bash scripting).
• Ability to follow and execute runbooks in a production environment.
• 3–5 years of experience working in Linux environments (primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic, global‑focused work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to additional databases (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with large‑scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
