Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking a Database Administrator for an 8-month onsite contract in Round Rock, TX. The role focuses on administering NoSQL databases on Linux VM and Kubernetes, with Ansible automation and OLAM playbook development for scalable DB provisioning.

The candidate should have a BS in computer science, 8–12 years of related experience, and strong skills in DB design, replication, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or hands-on work experience.
• Typically requires 12 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8 years of related experience with a master’s degree in the design, maintenance, and administration of NoSQL databases on Linux VM & Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience in Ansible automation & OLAM playbook development, AI Native Spec Driven Development (SDD) for NoSQL DB platform provisioning, DB installation, upgrade/patching, and DBA administration activities.
• Deep understanding of Database principles, DB cluster management, replication, and multi-datacenter configuration

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day DB administration & support, and maintenance for existing and new NoSQL databases on Linux VM and Kubernetes
• Assist in planning and performing database patching, upgrades, and implementing capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of the databases
• Perform debugging, tuning, and performance enhancement of the NoSQL database platform
• Monitor the health, High Availability, Disaster Recovery solutions, and Backup/Recovery operations

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Database Administrator. This is a 08 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Round Rock, TX (Onsite).

Pay Range: $70 - $80/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing day-to-day DB administration & support, and maintenance for existing and new NoSQL databases on Linux VM and Kubernetes
• Responsible for Ansible automation, OLAM playbook on Linux VM & Kubernetes, AI Native development skills using Devin for Spec Driven Development (SDD)
• Assist in planning and performing database patching, upgrades, and implementing capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of the databases
• Perform debugging, tuning, and performance enhancement of the NoSQL database platform
• Monitor the health, High Availability, Disaster Recovery solutions, and Backup/Recovery operations

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Strong knowledge of monitoring, management, capacity planning, and compaction strategy
• Good knowledge of database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
• Must be versatile, flexible, and proactive when resolving technical issues
• Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
• Professional Certifications: Ansible automation development, DataStax Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Neo4j certifications are preferred.
