Responsibilities include:
- Applying all aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Providing 24x7 rotational on-call support, including root cause analysis and participation in weekly operations reviews.
- Managing change processes across development, testing, QA, and production environments, including deploying approved changes.
- Proactively monitoring databases and resolving issues.
- Optimizing database performance and queries.
- Participating in enterprise database system projects and design decisions.
- Developing and implementing database security policies.
- Evaluating and deploying patches and updates.
- Supporting high availability architecture standards.
- Maintaining documentation on database and data architecture.
- Supporting data management solutions such as ETL, data archives, and purges.
- Performing capacity planning and generating management reports.
- Participating in project sizing and design reviews.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements include:
- 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
- Experience with SQL Server versions 2012-2016, with knowledge of upgrading to 2019 & 2022.
- Skills in database data management, backups, ETL, and archival using native tools.
- Proficiency with diagnostic and maintenance tools like DBCC, SQL Diag, SQL Profiler, and third-party tools.
- Knowledge of partitioning architecture, replication, mirroring, and security strategies.
- Experience collaborating with data warehousing developers and knowledge of BI tools (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SharePoint).
- Strong skills in T-SQL, PowerShell, tuning, debugging, and using SQL Server management tools.
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
