Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Database Administrator to join the SITE III proposal for the Defense Intelligence Agency. You will implement and optimize computerized database systems to support mission-critical operations, ensure security controls, and maintain data integrity across SQL Server and other DBMS platforms.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly and DoD 8570/8140 certifications, plus BS/MS/PhD education alignment and extensive experience.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI + Poly clearance.
  • BS, 5-7 years of relevant experience; MS, 3-5 years; PhD, 0-3 years.
  • One or more of the following DoD 8570/8140 certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA CASP+, CISSP.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
  • Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintains security and integrity controls.
  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
  • May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
  • Administers a variety of database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  • Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.
  • Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
  • Assists Database Designers/Information System Analysts in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based databases and database systems.
  • Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff; creates and maintains high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports; researches and implements new database and online technology.

Overview

We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our Task Order proposal on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise III (SITE III). The Senior Database Administrator i mplements and optimizes the computerized database systems that support the Company's or client's ability to function .

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Location: Annapolis Junction, MD or Denver, Colorado

  • Work schedule: “Normal work hours” constitute on average 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Amount of Travel: 20%

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $116,000.00 - $146,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
