Job summary

ManTech is seeking a Senior Database Administrator in Chantilly, VA to join our team and manage Oracle 19c databases, perform ETL development, and ensure performance and reliability across petabyte-scale data stores.

You will work with Exadata environments, PL/SQL development, and high-availability architectures, coordinating with cross-functional teams to support government intelligence software solutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 15+ years IT experience.
• Significant experience with Oracle 19c+ architecture, design and related Oracle tech on Linux.
• Oracle Exadata and PL/SQL developer experience.
• Oracle Label Security and performance optimization experience.
• Strong knowledge of high-availability solutions, backup methods (RMAN, Data Guard).
• Experience tuning large databases and automating processes with strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and administration of Oracle 19c databases.
• Design and develop database code for ETL from multiple sources.
• Perform performance tuning and forecast system scalability.
• Recommend procedures and changes to improve performance and reliability.
• Install and configure database environments and perform backups/restores.
• Manage, monitor, and administer Oracle database systems.
• Participate in capacity planning and provide technical support for database systems.

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Chantilly , VA

The Senior Database Administrator will work as part of the overall DBA team to determine, implement, and maintain the most efficient ways to ingest, organize and store petabytes of data from disparate system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participating in leading the design, development, and administration of Oracle 19c databases
• Designing and developing database code for ETL of data from multiple sources
• Conducting performance tuning and forecasting system scalability
• Recommending appropriate procedure, query, or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability
• Installing and configuring database environments as well as performing database backups and restores
• Managing, monitoring, and administering of Oracle database systems
• Participating in server and storage capacity management, planning and providing technical support in the evaluation of database systems and database design

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with 15+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
• Significant experience with Oracle 19c+ architecture and database design, and related Oracle technologies (Partitioning, Encryption, Pluggable Database, etc.) on Linux systems
• Significant Oracle Exadata and PL/SQL developer experience
• Oracle Label Security (OLS) experience coupled with significant experience and knowledge in methodologies to improve database query performance.
• Significant experience in the optimization of database environments
• Strong understanding of high-availability solutions, architecture, backup methodologies and their implementation (RMAN, Data Guard)
• Experience managing and tuning very large databases (terabytes and petabytes) and with automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy with strong documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with PostgreSQL architecture, database design, administration, and related technologies.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Technology
• Oracle OCP or OCM certification(s)
• Linux experience as relevant to database O&M
• Knowledge of multiple data-storage technologies
• Ability to work with multiple teams to enhance their code and improve performance.

Clearance Requirements:

• An active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet

The projected compensation range for this position is $141,500.00-$236,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
