Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) for DoD/IC missions. On-site work at Bethesda, MD with some remote tasks, requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph willingness and strong DB skills across SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.

The role emphasizes database design, CI/CD support, data modeling, and secure data sharing via APIs in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Possess a DoD TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA); must have Security+ and cloud certifications to qualify for access
• 3+ years administering databases including but not limited to: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
• 3+ years of database scripting using command line interfaces
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing database schema, data models and performance tuning
• Experience administering databases on-prem and in cloud platforms
• Experience monitoring database health and mitigating risks to SLAs
• Experience with CI/CD automation, code promotion, and deployment operations
• Experience with Elasticsearch Kibana for visualizations and analyses
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to develop ETL solutions for heterogeneous datasets.
• Administer, maintain, upgrade, and optimize databases to address technical debt.
• Design and improve database schemas and data models.
• Document database design, implementation, and interactions with other systems.
• Define formats and structures for data exports/imports.
• Define APIs to share data, including endpoints, authentication, and authorization.
• Manage multiple database instances across environments to ensure data consistency.
• Support CI/CD automation and deployment operations.
• Participate in daily scrums and program increment planning sessions

ABSC has an exciting opening for you, our next Database Administrator to play a critical role on the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) Program where we support our client’s mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and IC enterprise. We integrate off the shelf and newly development software to sustain and enhance the TCPED platform. We leverage cloud-based computing, artificial intelligence (Al), machine learning (ML) and cross-domain transfer systems to provide cutting edge data exploitation, enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community members. DTP advances the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely.

Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and possess a solid understanding of the software development life cycle all while working within an Agile framework.

Security clearance required for this role:

An Active TS/SCI with ability/willingness to obtain a CI polygraph is required.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and work with a diverse group of engineers in developing solutions for extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) heterogeneous datasets
• Administer, maintain, upgrade, and optimize databases to address technical debt
• Design, maintain, and improve database schemas and data models
• Participate in engineering design sessions to understand dependencies and interactions with POSTMAN data stores
• Document database design, implementation and interactions with other systems
• Define formats and structure for data exports/imports
• Define APIs to share data; identifying endpoints, authentication, authorization, segmentation, structure, and format
• Manage multiple database instances and interactions to insure data consistency across the POSTMAN platform
• Support CI/CD automation, code promotion, and deployment operations
• Participate in daily scrums and program increment planning sessions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
• Possess a DoD TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA); must have Security+ and cloud certifications to quality for access
• 3+ year administering databases including but not limited to: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
• 3+ years of database scripting using interface tools that include command line interfaces
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in designing database schema, data models (Relational, Entity-Relationship, Object-based, etc.) and performance tuning
• Experience with administrating databases both on-premises and on the cloud platforms
• Experience with monitoring database health and developing solutions to mitigate risks of performance and Service-level Agreements (SLAs)
• Experience working with a highly technical team and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Experience segregating data access through record locking or other solutions
• Experience documenting and implementing security controls; providing POAMs for vulnerabilities and security findings
• Experience managing multiple database instances across environmentsExperience managing multiple data connections and interfaces
• Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner

Salary is commensurate with education and years’ experience. Salary range for this requisition is: $125,000-$235k annual.
