Job summary

West Virginia Department of Agriculture is seeking a Data Verification Specialist (Temporary) to support the Produce Safety CAP grant program. The role involves data entry, verification, and manipulation under supervision, with a focus on Excel-based analysis and reporting.

Remote-based position with potential in-person travel to TBD locations; requires attention to detail and strong data-management skills. Prior data-entry experience and knowledge of Excel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a high school diploma or college degree in Agriculture, Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration preferred.
• Part-time or full-time experience in a related field preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and data verification processes.

Responsibilities

• Enter, verify, and manipulate data to fulfill inventory and verification requirements.
• Review entered data to identify errors and correct them.
• Generate data reports and visualizations in Excel (tables, charts, graphs).
• Assist with tracking verification calls and site visits as needed.
• Support the Produce Safety Program with data management and record maintenance.
