Position type: Contract
Duration: 6 month +
Location: REMOTE

Looking for a highly skilledMid to Senior-Level Data Test Automation Engineerwith deep experience inbackend and API automation. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data pipeline validation, automation framework development, and cloud-based analytics services such asAWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, and Step Function. This role is critical in ensuring data quality, system reliability, and continuous delivery in our backend systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalabletest automation frameworksfor backend systems and data pipelines.
  • AutomateAPI and database-level testingto validate data transformations, data integrity, and backend processes.
  • Work closely with data solutions, data platform, DevOps, and other teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage acrossETL/ELT workflows.
  • Write complexSQL queriesto validate data acrossPostgreSQL,Redshift, andAthena.
  • Create and maintain test cases, test data, and test scripts across different environments (dev, staging, prod).
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and utilizeJirafor bug tracking, sprint planning, and reporting.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD integration to ensure tests are automatically executed as part of the deployment lifecycle.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and work with developers for timely resolution.
  • Contribute to performance and load testing of data services as needed.
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies
  • Participate and engage in all Scrum Ceremonies
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 6+ years of experience in Test Automation focused on data-intensive applications.
  • Strong experience in API automation (RESTful APIs), using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.
  • Proficiency in writing automation scripts using Python, PySpark, or Java.
  • Solid hands-on experience with SQL and backend databases including PostgreSQL, Redshift, and Athena.
  • Deep understanding of ETL/ELT testing in cloud environments, especially with AWS Glue, Step Functions, and S3.
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools, especially Jira.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the Behavioral Health or broader Healthcare domain.
  • Exposure to data privacy regulations like HIPAA and best practices for secure data handling.
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks and tools.
  • Good in documentation
  • Quick learner and eager to adapt to new methods

Pay Range*: $90 pr hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
