Overview

Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring an IT Data Technician at our Ashburn, VA office. This role reports to the Enterprise Storage Lead and is responsible for providing Woolpert’s Bulk Data Ingest service. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, strong communicators, and have knowledge of enterprise storage platforms and hardware. Experience with data copy and analysis tools is a plus. Work hours are Monday to Friday, noon to 5 pm ET.

Essential Functions

1. Collect data drives from the local UPS Store daily.
2. Track drives through the data ingest lifecycle.
3. Communicate with various business personnel.
4. Coordinate shipping logistics for drive returns.
5. Copy data to our primary storage platform and Azure cloud.
6. Collaborate with network and server administrators to ensure efficient infrastructure operation.
7. Provide suggestions for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Windows 10/11.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Experience with data transfer and analysis tools such as Robocopy and Treesize.
• Analytical thinking and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of asset management practices.
• Familiarity with remote system control procedures (RDP, VNC).
