Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Data Systems Software Engineer to develop modular software tools and infrastructure for data processing and center operations in Earth, climate, and environmental sciences, including the ARM Data Center.

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
• Two years of Linux systems engineering experience.
• Full-stack system development experience.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PERL).
• CI/CD with Docker deployment and Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop and operate back-end data analysis workflows at scale in an HPC environment.
• Design scalable data processing for historical and streaming data on hybrid HPC and cloud platforms.
• Configure, deploy and update containers in Docker/Kubernetes with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop documentation for deployed systems/applications.
• Learn new technologies to meet programmatic requirements.
