Job summary

General Excavating Company is seeking a Data Systems Analyst based in Omaha to design, implement, and optimize data systems and applications across the organization. You will automate workflows, build dashboards, and support data integration across Sage 300 CRE, HCSS, and BI tools to empower informed business decisions.

You will gather user requirements, ensure data integrity, and explore AI opportunities to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis, business systems analysis, reporting, integrations, business intelligence, or related fields.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of system integrations and automated workflows.
• Develop and maintain reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytics tools to support operational and strategic decision making.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting, integration, and data requirements.
• Analyze business and system data to identify trends, opportunities, exceptions, and process improvement recommendations.
• Create and maintain data mapping, transformation, and validation documentation.
• Monitor data quality and integrity across enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, data discrepancies, and reporting errors.
• Assist with enterprise reporting initiatives using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, and business application reporting tools.
• Partner with application owners to improve data visibility and process efficiency.
• Support data conversions and migrations associated with implementations and system enhancements.
• Maintain documentation related to integrations, data structures, reporting processes, and system workflows.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining data governance standards and best practices.
• Provide end-user support and training related to reporting and analytics tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external technology partners on integration and reporting initiatives.
• Participate in process improvement and automation projects that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
• Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI technologies to further enhance analysis and productivity to drive better business decisions.
