Job summary

ProMach Inc. is seeking a Data Support Engineer in Kentucky to act as the first line of contact for data platform incidents and access requests.

You will monitor data loads, assist with data integration, and work with Data Engineers and Business Analysts to resolve data-related issues. The role emphasizes user support, documentation, and collaboration across the organization to ensure data availability and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information systems, CS, data analytics, or related field.
  • 0–3 years in IT support, analytics, data management, or related technical roles.
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for data platform support requests and incidents.

  • Assist with data cleansing, transformation, and standardization efforts.
  • Participate in testing and deployment activities for new data integrations.
  • Help maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Work directly with business users to understand data-related issues and requirements.
  • Educate users on available reporting tools and data resources.
  • Assist with training materials and user documentation.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Basic knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SyteLine, SAP, Dynamics, or similar business applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Basic programming experience in SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of master data management and data governance concepts.

The Data Support Engineer is responsible for providing Tier 1 support for the enterprise data platform while developing foundational data engineering skills. This role serves as the first point of contact for data-related incidents, user access requests, reporting issues, and platform support needs. The position also assists with data integration monitoring, user provisioning, documentation, and basic data engineering activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Stewards, and business users across the organization.
