Job summary

Jane Street is seeking a Data Strategist to understand the external data landscape, identify datasets to improve trading, and procure those datasets. You will partner with traders, researchers, and colleagues to assess data needs, attend conferences, and explore sources that may unlock new data opportunities.

You will manage vendor relationships, vet products, negotiate terms, and coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Data Engineering to bring datasets into production use.

• Strong relationship-building with colleagues and vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and switch contexts.

Responsibilities

• Identify datasets that could enhance our trading.
• Procure data and manage vendor relationships.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Data Engineering to bring datasets into production.
• Attend conferences and vet data sources, including non-commercialized ones.
• Advise traders and researchers on data options and value.
