The Gift Services team has an exciting opening for a Data Stewardship Manager. This is a full-time permanent position.


The Data Stewardship Manager will work independently under the general supervision of the Senior Director for Gift Services to manage all aspects of biographical data—an integral component of daily operations and a sustained commitment to excellence.

The Data Stewardship Manager will contribute to the broader Gift Services team and support its service promise: : to provide excellent service to donors, alumni, UW partners and stakeholders through timely, responsive and graceful solution-oriented results; to be highly engaged, efficient, accurate and transparent performers who seek continuous improvement of our processes; and to share our expertise and guidance as the go-to resource for gift-related UW policies and procedures and industry best practices.


What You Will Do:


  • Coordinate with the management team, balancing daily tasks and projects.
  • Extract, transform and load data files to support biographical updates and gift processing.
  • Create, maintain and resolve entity records to ensure data quality and effective stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Finance and the Core Data Analyst, manage the daily data exchange in the Funding Entity Core Database Management (FECDM) and recommend solutions for cross-platform issues and ID integrations.
  • Partner with Data Governance and Gift Services leadership to streamline FECDM operations.
  • Audit and analyze biographical update requests in Tandem and FECDM.
  • Follow UW policies to provide supporting documentation for audits and requests, following federal and state gift reporting and public records guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Prospect Management team compile, confirm and complete due diligence.
  • Work with UA’s Information Management team to recommend and implement system improvements. Develop and lead continuous improvement training sessions for Gift Services and UW partners.
  • Perform functional testing to ensure seamless adoption of new tools.
  • Monitor, track, and recommend changes to systems and tools as developed.
  • Promote and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Elevate issues to Gift Services management as needed.



Minimum Requirements


Bachelor's degree AND three years of experience, familiarity with documenting processes and procedures for general users and experience using complex technical platforms and systems.


Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

What You Bring:


  • Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, database management applications and business intelligence software.
  • Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS).
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills sufficient to prepare concise technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire change.
  • Ability to prioritize many different assignments and remain flexible to accommodate unexpected contingencies.
